I freelance with many different orchestras and ensembles in the Netherlands.
I have been a regular extra in the viola group of the Metropole Orkest for more than 10 years and have enjoyed playing with them in a lot of different projects. Favourites include the BBC Proms, touring with Gregory Porter, playing for North Sea Jazz and getting to work with such artists as Quincy Jones, John Scofield, Richard Bona and Jacob Collier.
I’m a member of The New Symphonics. This is an extremely flexible group; for example we play for the Musical Sing-a-long at the Uitmarkt, and each summer we play for Viva Classic Live; an outdoor event over several evenings focusing on classical opera. With this orchestra I’ve played in many gala events and TV shows.
Over the last years I’ve been a part of many musical productions. This began in 2008 when I played solo viola for Op Hoop van Zegen, a production from De Graaf Cornelissen. Since then I’ve played in Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, Aspects of Love, Fiddler on the Roof, Zodiac and Diana en Zonen
A production I particularly enjoyed was Into The Woods from Pit Producties in 2017. This wasn’t just due to Steven Sondheim’s fantastic work, but the decision to put the musicians on the stage and centre-stage!
In the 2021/22 season I was back with De Graaf Cornelissen for a new production of Titanic, and in spring 2023 we will begin a touring version of Les Miserables.
